Download and Installation Instructions
If you're installing version 9 on a computer that has a previous version of Sentinel Visualizer, then skip Steps 2 and 4. DO NOT install or uninstall the current instance of Microsoft SQL Express. Perform only steps 1, 3, 5 and 6 if you're installing V9 on a machine that has a previous version of Sentinel Visualizer.
- Install all pending Windows updates and reboot your computer.
- Download Microsoft SQL Express to your computer's Download folder.
- Download Sentinel Visualizer 9 to your computer's Download folder.
- Open Windows File Explorer and install Microsoft SQL Express by right-clicking on the EXE and choose "Run As Administrator". During the installation process, click "I accept", Yes, Next, etc., as prompted. Although we suggest that you accept the default password (in Step 11 of the SQL Server Express Installation Instructions), you certainly may change the password, if you would like. In the event that the Microsoft SQL Server Express password needs to be reset, visit Reset Microsoft SQL Server Express Password for instructions.
- Open Windows File Explorer and install Sentinel Visualizer by right-clicking on the EXE and choose "Run As Administrator". During the installation process, click "I accept", Yes, Next, etc., as required.
- Launch Sentinel Visualizer 9 and activate the software with the appropriate email address or product key.

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
Sentinel Visualizer uses Microsoft's SQL Server as its database technology. The best way to backup and restore Sentinel Visualizer databases is to use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Download and install Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Google Earth
Sentinel Visualizer includes the ability to export data to the external Google Earth program that provides advanced 2D and 3D geospatial capabilities.
Download and install the Desktop version of Google Earth.
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
Sentinel Visualizer includes the ability to create high-resolution Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file for Visualizer diagrams.
Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
